This community is located in the northeast of the island, facing the open Caribbean Sea, Punta Gorda is the first Garifuna community in Honduras. We will enjoy unique views of the ocean and incredible photo stops.
Our adventure will continue visiting the community of Oak Ridge, that would be our second municipality of Roatán”, to board a cultural water taxi enjoying details and information from the hand of a local captain, until we reach the mangrove tunnels, surrounded by crystal clear turquoise waters where we can swim and enjoy its wonders.
The next stop is visit to the Garifuna village of Punta Gorda, just a few minutes from the community of Oak Ridge.
Among them, rhythmic music or the famous “punta”, the Garífunas are masters of this dance that Hondurans enjoy and distinguish.
They can opt for an additional tour to enhance their experience.
